To mark HCP’s inclusion in the 2024 World Architecture 100 (WA100), which lists our architecture firm among the world’s top 100—El Economista, one of Spain’s most influential and widely read business newspapers, interviewed Javier Higuera and Alejandro Pérez, the founding partners of HCP.
Among the main topics covered in the interview are both our origins and our future goals, with a focus on details such as the growth of our staff, the improvement of our technical capabilities, and our global presence. In this way, our partners highlight the effort, commitment, and teamwork required to build a 38-year track record and achieve the international recognition that comes with appearing on the WA100 list: “Focused on residential architecture, putting the client first, and prioritizing the HCP brand—without personal agendas—we grew both in the types of projects we undertake and in our geographic reach,” notes Alejandro Pérez.
Adapting to change has also been a key factor in maintaining sustained growth over nearly forty years: we currently have offices in Málaga, Madrid, Seville, and Bahrain; we have a team of nearly 100 professionals; and we have completed more than 3,000 projects in 34 countries. “Some of the most significant projects we are currently developing include the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Seville, in collaboration with BIG; the Four Seasons and Angsana Real de la Quinta hotels (the latter in collaboration with OBMI) in Marbella; residential developments such as Santa Clara and Evergreen; and high-profile urban development projects in Málaga such as La Térmica, Repsol, and Rojas Santa Tecla,” Javier Higuera told El Economista.
