HCP Takes Part in the Jury of the Marbella Design & Art Awards 2026

The eighth edition of Marbella Design & Art, held in March 2026, once again confirmed its position as a leading platform for design, architecture and contemporary creativity. Within this context, the Marbella Design & Art Awards recognise each year the most outstanding spaces and proposals presented during the event, highlighting innovation, conceptual quality and excellence in design.

This year, Jacobo Higuera Mata, Partner and COO at HCP Architecture & Engineering, was invited to join the jury responsible for evaluating and selecting the award-winning projects. His participation reinforces HCP’s presence in forums related to architecture, design and culture, as well as the firm’s commitment to an interdisciplinary and international approach to the built environment.

An International Jury with Diverse Perspectives

The jury of the Marbella Design & Art Awards 2026 was composed of recognised professionals from different fields of architecture and design, ensuring a broad and well-informed perspective throughout the selection process.

Alongside Jacobo Higuera Mata, the jury included Fran Silvestre, founder of Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, internationally recognised for an architectural language defined by light, spatial clarity and material precision across residential, cultural and public projects, and Isabel Margalejo, Head of Arquitectura y Diseño magazine, with more than fifteen years of experience in publishing and a long-standing role in shaping the architectural and design discourse in Spain.

The jury’s collective experience and professional excellence were key in assessing aspects such as spatial quality, technological innovation, sustainability and each project’s capacity to engage with its context and users.

Architecture, Design and Sustainability at the Core

The awards recognise several categories, including best space, most innovative proposal from a technological standpoint and the most sustainable project. This approach closely aligns with HCP’s understanding of architecture as a discipline where technical rigor, design quality and environmental responsibility must progress together.

Taking part in this type of initiative allows HCP to actively contribute to the broader reflection on the role of architecture and design in creating meaningful, high-quality spaces adapted to contemporary and future challenges.

Commitment to Design Culture

HCP’s participation in the jury of the Marbella Design & Art Awards 2026 forms part of a continued commitment to engaging with platforms where architecture intersects with other creative disciplines. These spaces foster dialogue, critical thinking and the exchange of ideas, contributing to a design culture grounded in innovation, excellence and collaboration.

Edition after edition, Marbella Design & Art demonstrates the importance of such events as forums for recognition, visibility and the celebration of talent within contemporary architecture and design.
